Pack away!

I know. This article is a little late - the holidays are almost over- but many people are still planning to enjoy the rest of the summer vacations by going away for short weekend to friends' and family's holidays home on the seashore.

Some days ago, I went to the house of a friend of mine to help packing his suitcase for a long weekend by the sea and I thought to take some photos to show you the best way to fit your cloths in your suitcase.

This are all the stuff and more that ought to fit in the suitcase and that's the kind in question, a medium size trolley.

First of all, let's pack the shoes. For a week end 3 pair of shoes are the ideal number (one more dressy, one comfy and the shower/beach ones).

The best way to pack the shoes is to put each shoe in a sachet (fancy shoes usually comes with a sachet for this reason) or in a food bag: doing so, you can put every shoe along the walls of the case and do not deform them. It's good to remember to take the heaviest pair on your foot and leave the light ones for the case.

There's just one smart way to pack flip flop and it's to put one in to the other and squeeze them in the big front pocket of the case.

The next step is to 'fill the shoes' with all that is small enough to be inserted into a shoe: rolled belts, bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc. In this case they are only socks, but it is a method to use the cavity space of the shoes and protect accessories.

The beauty case, full of everything you need, goes between the shoes toward the bottom of the trolley so not to crunch the other more fragile things that will go around it: it's good to remember to put the heaviest things at the bottom of the case for trolleys.

The next step is filling up the pocket rack on the other side of the case: in there you can put the trucks and underwear. The minimal number of trucks is always three so that one you can wear, one is for change if you have to be dry fast (if you have to drive the car back from the beach or else) and the last one is drying after being washed. And so the circle goes.

The best way to pack trucks is to roll them up so to make them occupy less space possible.

Then you put in your suitcase pants and shorts: the process is always the same, roll them to occupy as little space as possible. In addition, along the structure of the trolley must be put documents or books, that being forced from the corridors of the handle to be stiff, do not crease.

The pants, being soft material, will go along the walls of the case.

On books/documents can go the other more fragile objects like sunglasses and glasses.

E ora il completo pigiama: come prima, rolliamolo!

Now the pyjamas set: like before, roll it up!

Stesso metodo per le tshirts.

Same way for the tshirts.

Almost for last go suits or more delicate garments, such as shirts: for them, as for the polos, make sure to unwind the collar to avoid creasing.

Last one is the beach towel which folded, covers the entire suitcase.

Ed ecco chiusa la valigia!

And here suitcase closed!

  1. Straordinario!
