Pack away!

So benissimo che quest'articolo è un pò in ritardo - le ferie sono quasi finite - ma molte persone hanno ancora in programma di godersi il resto dell'estate recandosi per brevi week end da amici e parenti in riva al mare.

Giorni fa sono andata a casa di un mio caro amico per aiutarlo a fare la valigia per un week end lungo in riva al mare e ho pensato bene di fare alcune foto per mostrarvi il modo migliore per far entrare i vostri capi in valigia.

I know. This article is a little late - the holidays are almost over- but many people are still planning to enjoy the rest of the summer vacations by going away for short weekend to friends' and family's holidays home on the seashore.

Some days ago, I went to the house of a friend of mine to help packing his suitcase for a long weekend by the sea and I thought to take some photos to show you the best way to fit your cloths in your suitcase.

Queste sono quasi tutte le cose che devono trovare posto nella valigia e questa è il tipo in questione, un trolley di media grandezza.

This are all the stuff and more that ought to fit in the suitcase and that's the kind in question, a medium size trolley.

Prima di tutto, mettiamo in valigia le scarpe. Per un week end 3 paia di scarpe sono il numero ideale (uno più elegante, uno comodo e un paio da doccia/spiaggia).

First of all, let's pack the shoes. For a week end 3 pair of shoes are the ideal number (one more dressy, one comfy and the shower/beach ones). 

Il modo migliore di mettere in valigia le scarpe e mettere ogni scarpa in un sacchetto (di solito le scarpe più costose hanno nella scatola i sacchetti proprio per quest'uso) o in una busta per surgelare i cibi: facendo così si può mettere ogni scarpa lungo le pareti della valigia e non far perdere la loro forma.

E' bene ricordarsi di portare le scarpe più pesanti al piede e lasciare le più leggere nella valigia.

The best way to pack the shoes is to put each shoe in a sachet (fancy shoes usually comes with a sachet for this reason) or in a food bag: doing so, you can put every shoe along the walls of the case and do not deform them. Dalle mie esperienze personali, anche ripetendo a destra e a manca che 'la moda è ANCHE una cosa da uomini!', succede molto spesso che alla visione di una sfilata, il ragazzo/uomo odierno guardi ai 10 minuti della durata del video e si tiri subito indietro: 'Che noia! Dieci minuti a guardare vestiti?'

Beh si. Ma in realtà le sfilate, soprattutto quelle moderne, più che una presentazione degli abiti siano uno spettacolo che chiarisce bene il 'mood' della collezione allo spettatore, mezzo per interessare visivamente ed intellettualmente alla tematica presentata dallo stilista in questione.

Dedicando questo post e video al collega fashion blogger Riccardo Onorato, che mi ha rinvigorito nella missione di far riavvicinare il numero più alto possibile di uomini al mondo della moda, vi invito alla visione di questo fashion show che spettacolarmente e prepotentemente vi dimostra che le sfilate non sono cosa da femminucce.

E' finalmente arrivata l'estate: avete gli ultimi esami universitari che si stanno concludendo, le ferie si avvicinano per tutti e in un precedente post abbiamo imparato a scegliere il nostro costume ideale.
Cosa manca allora? Tutte le cose importanti per la spiaggia sono finite, ora mi dilungherò nel trattare di outfits per i party e di come preparare la valigia....EBBENE NO!

Molti uomini, ma soprattutto molti ragazzi più giovani quando si tratta di andare in spiaggia, una volta scelto il costume, un costume di ricambio e arraffato il primo telo da mare nei paraggi credono di essere pronti: invece non fanno che dimenticare una delle cose più importanti quando si è a contatto con il sole cocente estivo.

Un altro discorsetto è il prezzo: il più costoso gira sui 33 euro, ma andiamo solo a scendere e la sapete una cosa? E' UNA SPESA UNICA PER TUTTA LA DURATA DELLA VOSTRA ESTATE!
Quindi fate lo sforzo e non fate i taccagni: purtroppo la qualità si paga, ma invece di fregarvi la protezione profumosa e sicuramente inadeguata della vostra miglior amica/sorella/fidanzata, adesso che avete intenzione di proteggervi, fatelo con prodotti pensati e realizzati appositamente per voi e il vostro corpo.

Quando la settimana scorsa mi contattò un certo Sam Bell, rimasi sorpresa che gmail non avesse automaticamente messo tra gli spam quella mail, invece aprendola mi sono resa conto che si trattava di un invito personale a far parte della sezione media di un sito molto particolare: Cityblis.
Il sito di origine svizzero infatti, aiuta a promuovere designer indipendenti e li aiuta oltre a creare una propria vetrina di e-commerce, a mettere in contatto i designer con giornali di moda e blogger coprendo oltre 50 paesi.

Trovare i jeans giusti è una ricerca ardua, ma quando finalmente si riesce a trovare il paio perfetto è l'inizio di un bellissimo rapporto che può durare anni ed anni.
Come tutti i primi rapporti all'inizio è un pò imbarazzante, l'occhio cade sulle gambe mentre ci sediamo sul divano, i lunghi silenzi in cui nessuno dei due dice nulla, l'imbarazzo quando si sfiora inavvertitamente la zip in pubblico. Ci siamo passati tutti.

In questo post voglio trattare di un capo che si trova in qualunque armadio, donna, uomo o bambino che sia: i jeans, ed in particolare i primi sul mercato, i mitici Levi's.

I jeans rappresentano da oltre un secolo il capo base dell'abbigliamento informale, e la tradizione vuole che furono inventati nel 1853 da Morris Levis Strauss che, con l'aiuto dei fratelli rimasti a NY mercanti di stoffe, ebbe la brillante idea di organizzare un servizio di rifornimenti (tessuti, attrezzi, mobili, etc) ai cercatori d'oro sparsi in tutta la California, passando poi successivamente alla produzione di pantaloni in serie su misure fisse.

Dopo aver sofferto per la nascita di concorrenti nel campo del denim, la crisi economica degli anni 30 ha costretto molti americani benestanti a rinunciare ai viaggi estivi in europa e rifugiarsi nei ranch, dove hanno riscoperto il jeans e la sua leggenda grazie ai cowboy, eroi romantici che dominavano il west nei film hollywoodiani (ma in realtà erano generalmente dei vaccari che badavano alle mandrie di bovini a loro affidatogli dai padroni e preferivano indossare i jeans più per la loro comoda qualità di non impregnarsi di odori molesti che per la loro bellezza).
I jeans però hanno attecchito in europa e nel resto del mondo dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, dove gli indumenti da riposo dei soldati americani fabbricati da Levi's in esclusiva erano diventati simbolo della ricchezza e libertà che gli Stati Uniti esprimevano: da allora i jeans sono stati sempre identificati con quella idea di umiltà, semplicità e comodità americana, libera dal rapporto con l'abbigliamento così rigido dei popoli europei.

Negli anni 60 e 70 divennero anche un simbolo dell'uguaglianza dei sessi, e grazie anche al loro colore blu, hanno sempre espresso significati positivi e 'democratizzazione', nonchè grazie al colore blu scuro le macchie sono meno visibili: infatti il blu è stato impegnato anche per le tute degli operai, caratterizzandosi di un altro significato di umiltà del mondo lavorativo.

Questo è possibile grazie alla natura denim di decolorarsi con il tempo e i lavaggi: la tintura infatti è applicata solo ai fili prima della tessitura, solamente a quell verticali e non anche a quelli orizzontali, e solo sulla parte esterna. Naturalmente oggi è diverso dai primi decenni, quando il tessuto dei jeans era così rigido che dovevano essere indossati bagnati per assumere la forma del corpo.

Oltre la fantastica location e l'atmosfera creata dal VJ e Art Directors, mi ha colpito molto la scelta di fare lo shooting sulle scale del locale, dandomi l'impressione di osservare tre piani di balconate piene di gente paparazzata (cosa che mi faceva sghignazzare ogni volta che ci pensavo: regredita ad una dodicenne, sue me!).

Besides the wonderful location and the atmosphere created by the VJ and Art Directors, I was struck by the choice of doing a photo shoot on the stairs of the room, giving me the impression of observing three floors of balconies full of papped people (which made ​​me laugh every time I thought about it: I'm a child, sue me!).

Prendendo spunto da questa idea, mi sono impegnata a paparazzare un pò gli invitati, tutti perfettamente pronti a godersi un evento così particolare.
