Per scoprirne di più ecco il sito, ma penso che già il video riesca a farvi innamorare: se non sentite la punta di cupido pizzicarvi il petto, siete semplicemente senza cuore.

Swimming trunks: which type?

Le giornate si allungano, il clima si fa sempre più caldo e già si iniziano a vedere nei negozi costumi da mare: ma quale scegliere?

No, non sto parlando di colore, ma del tipo: ogni modello complementa un fisico diverso e quando sulla spiaggia si è a torso nudo, è meglio essere sicuri che l'unico indumento che si ha addosso riesca ad accentuarci il più possibile.
Ecco una piccola guida sui 4 tipi di costume (si con annessi i miei disegnini esplicativi del modello) su cui basarsi nella scelta, tenendo sempre conto del proprio corpo.

No, I'm not talking about color, but about the type: every model complements a different physical shape and when you are on the beach shirtless, you better be sure that the only garment that you wear is able to highlight you as much as possible.
Here is a small guide about the 4 types of swimming trunks (yes, with my model explanatory drawings attached) on what to be aware of wile choosing, always having in mind your body type.

Olimpico / Speedos

Fisico: olimpico / Body type: v-shaped

Questo tipo di costume è stato inventato per le competizioni sportive e poi è finito sulle spiagge più vicine a noi, ricordandoci perchè ammiriamo e rispettiamo gli atleti olimpici.

• Prima di avvicinarti ad un paio di questo modello devi almeno aver frequentato la palestra 2 volte al giorno, tutti i giorni per un mese

This type of swimming trunks was invented for competitions and then ended up on the closest beaches, reminding us why we admire and respect the Olympic athletes.

Il migliore in 'acqua' è ovviamente Tom Daley, che ha fatto ironicamente dell'indossare il suo costume basso in vita il suo segno distintivo.

Preferito dai surfisti di tutto il globo, è capace di mascherare i chili di troppo ed arrivando a metà coscia dà l'illusione di lunghezza.

Play Shop

Oggi vi voglio presentare uno dei miei negozi preferiti di Napoli, il Play Shop.

Il Play Shop è un negozio maschile e femminile di abbigliamento e accessori nel pieno centro storico di Napoli e nel cuore della zona universitaria: ve lo voglio consigliare non solo per la sua facile raggiungibilità, ma soprattutto per la scelta curata di abbigliamento maschile che offre.
A differenza della solita offerta, i capi di questo negozio hanno uno stile ricercato ed europeo senza però sfociare nell'assurdo o ridicolo: capi portabili e da un design mai noioso.

Il negozio di spicco per lo Street Fashion, che 'unisce il vecchio street style alla moda europea'.

Ho avuto il piacere di intervistare la titolare del negozio e di scoprire di più sulla strategia alle spalle del suo posizionamento 'Ho sempre avuto difficoltà nel fare shopping a Napoli. Le opzioni erano due: o capi tutti uguali made in china o capi di design che costavano molto. Così ho girato per Londra, Berlino, Danimarca, un pò tutta Europa, e sono andata a sbirciare nei negozi trovando le marche che mi piacevano di più: una volta ritornata in Italia contattavo le case distributrici per averli nel mio negozio.'

E anche superando molti problemi ci è riuscita in pieno, poichè il negozio custodisce in sè un aurea cosmopolita tipicamente europea frutto di continua e instancabile ricerca.
Ricerca che non si ferma solo alle marche straniere ma ha soprattutto un occhio di riguardo ai nostri designer: negli scaffali infatti ci sono molti stilisti italiani che attraverso i marchi europei traducono i trend per il palato nostrano.

Il target è molto ampio, dagli adolescenti all'uomo di 50 anni e il rapporto qualità/prezzo è imbattibile con un minimo di t-shirt a 15€.

Il layout del negozio è minimal, dove prevalgono il bianco e l'acciaio ma nel mezzo del negozio campeggia uno stand di legno che poi si rivela essere pedane di epal ' Per il visual, ogni stagione abbiamo un tema preciso e per questa primavera/autunno è il riciclo'


Today I want to present one of my favorite shops in Naples, Play Shop.

Play Shop is a shop for men and women clothing and accessories in the historic center of Naples and in the heart of the university zone: I want to recommend it not only for its easy reach, but also to the careful choice of menswear offering.
Unlike the usual offering, this shop's clothing have a refined style and European lead without leading in the absurd or ridiculous: wearable clothes with a never boring design.

The store is leading in the Fashion Street, which 'combines the old street style and the European fashion'.

I had the pleasure of interviewing the owner of the shop and find out more about the strategy behind his positioning 'I've always had a hard time shopping in Naples: there were two options, or clothes made in china all identical or design clothes that cost much. So I turned to London, Berlin, Denmark, a bit all over Europe, and I went to have a look in the shops finding the brands that I liked the most: once back in Italy I would call the distribution companies to have them in my shop. '

And, overcoming many problems, it has succeeded in full as the store holds in itself a cosmopolitan aura typically European, fruit of continuous and relentless pursuit.
Research that is not limited to foreign brands but above all an eye to our designers: on the shelves, in fact, there are many Italian designers that, through the European brands, translate the trend for our national palate.

The target audience is very wide, from teenagers to the man of 50 years and an unbeatable balance quality/price,with a minimum of € 15 for t-shirts.

The layout of the store is minimal in which white and steel predominate but in the middle of the store stands a stand of timber which then, turns out to be epal platforms 'For the visual, every season we have a clear theme and for this spring / autumn is recycling '

Tra la gamma di accessori offerta dal negozio, qui per esempio un portafoglio di una marca americana completamente fatto in carta.

Washed Suede BRTS

Questa primavera/estate Puma ha creato una variante molto colorata e interessante del suo modello storico, le Puma Suede: il modello, infatti, fin dalla sua nascita nel 1968 ha riscosso molto successo diventando la calzatura di riferimento di diversi movimenti giovanili, soprattutto da boyband e musicisti.

La collezione si chiama Suede Washed Brights (o BRTS) dove la scarpa attraverso uno speciale trattamento color washed viene 'lavata' dandole un piacevole effetto usato alla tomaia, mentre tinge di colori accesi la suola, l'intersuola e la banda laterale.

Ho inserito solo la versione bassa poichè la preferisco per forma e colori, ma nel sito della Puma si possono anche trovare nella versione stivaletto.

This spring/summer Puma has created a very colorful and interesting variant of its historical model, the Puma Suede: the model, in fact, since it was born in 1968 has been very successful, becoming the footwear reference of different youth movements, from boyband and musicians.

The collection is called Washed Suede Brights (or BRTS) where the shoe through a special treatment is color washed by giving it a nice effect used in the upper, while tinged with bright colors the outsole, midsole and the sideband.

I have included only the low version because I prefer the shape and color, but on the site of Puma you can also find the boot version.

Tailoring: the Neapolitan way

La sartoria napoletana è sempre stata il mio primo amore: la giacca, l'eleganza del completo, la figura dell'uomo vestito di tutto punto.

Più che sui manichini dei negozi, fin da piccola mi ritrovavo incantata a guardare qualche uomo d'affari napoletano passeggiare per Via Roma, Via dei Mille o semplicemente seduto a gustarsi il caffè in un bar e ogni volta non indossavano marche conosciute, ma abiti sartoriali senza nome che li avvolgevano come dei guanti e li facevano apparire ai miei occhi alla strenua di nobili cavalieri moderni, emanando un aurea di galanteria e efficienza senza eguali.

 O’Mast, il cortometraggio di Gianluca Migliarotti, riesce esprimere appieno la passione, l'emozione e l'incanto tutto napoletano della nostra sartoria napoletana: perchè ò mast, non fabbrica un abito per una cerimonia ma cuce una poesia che con ago e filo deve abbracciare il cliente durante tutti i momenti della sua giornata.

The Neapolitan tailoring has always been my first love: the jacket, the elegance of the whole suit, the figure of the man all dressed up.

More than by the mannequins in stores, even as a child I found myself enchanted by watching some Neapolitan businessman walk on Via Roma, Via dei Mille, or simply enjoy his coffe at the bar and every time they were not wearing known brands but tailored nameless garments, which as gloves, wrapped them and made them appear to my eyes like modern noble knights, emanating an aura of  unmatched gallantry and efficiency.

  O'Mast, the short film by Gianluca Migliarotti, can fully express the passion, the emotions and charm all of our Neapolitan bespoke tailoring: because the head tailor (ò mast), does not manufacture a dress for a wedding but sews with needle and thread a poem that must embrace the customer during all day long.

Meggings: the new trend?

Ricordate i menestrelli quattrocenteschi o i gentiluomini inglesi, altrettanto rinascimentali, sul palco del Globe recitando uno degli ultimi spettacoli di Shakespeare? Ricordate come erano vestiti, e in particolare, cosa indossavano come pantaloni? No? Beh ecco qualche foto per ricordarvelo:

Vi chiederete, perchè questa lezione di storia? Beh, a quanto pare le passerelle americane e inglesi del 2013 hanno deciso di riproporre le pesanti calzamaglie rinascimentali con un twist: chiamandole MEGGINGS.

Esatto, Meggins, o per esteso men leggins: avete letto correttamente, sto parlando di leggins per uomo.

Ora, per quanto approvi un bel paio di calzamaglie in un armadio maschile da indossare sotto i pantaloni o jeans durante i lunghi mesi di gelo, o anche per indossarli comodamente in casa, non posso fare a meno di voler sparare con una cerbottana avvelenata il primo ragazzo che vedo camminare per strada con indosso solo un paio di meggins.

You may wonder, why this history lesson? Well, apparently the American and British catwalks of 2013  decided to revive the Renaissance heavy tights with a twist: calling MEGGINGS.

That's right, Meggins, aka man leggings: you read correctly, I'm talking about leggings for men.

Now, as much I approve a nice pair of tights in a male wardrobe to wear under pants or jeans during the long months of snow, or even to wear them comfortably at home, I can not help but want to shoot a poisoned blowgun as soon as I see a guy walking down the street wearing only a pair of meggins.

Ora, per quanto i meggins siano stati da un pò presenti sulle passerelle più Haute Couture e azzardate, e per quanto siano diventati uno dei capi preferiti da alcuni personaggi famosi americani (è bene precisare americani, visto che è un trend partito appunto in america che adesso sta sbarcando in Inghilterra grazie a e-shop della Uniqlo, quindi è inutile additarlo come un trend 'troppo europeo') come Lenny Kravitz, Justin Bieber o britannici come Russell Brand, non giustifica il fatto di metterli in commercio in un ambiente Prêt-à-porter.

Now, as the meggins have been present before on the Haute Couture and  more risky runways , and how they have become one of the garnment preferred by some famous Americans (American, it's is worth pointing out, since it's a trend that started in america and now is landing in England thanks to the Uniqlo e-shop, so do not point to it as a trend 'too European') as Lenny Kravitz, Justin Bieber and British as Russell Brand, it does not justify putting them on the market in a Prêt-à-porter way.

In teoria, non sarebbero neanche così male, ma come tutte le cose in teoria, funziona solo in un universo parallelo in cui tutti gli uomini hanno il fisico e il look adatto per farli funzionare.

I meggins che vedete nelle pagine patinate appartenenti a famose rockstar o modelli sulla passerella, nella vita reale di tutti giorni nei migliori dei casi appaiono non molto differenti da un paio di stretti pantaloni del pigiama.

In theory, they're not even that bad, but like all things in theory it only works in a parallel universe in which all men have the physical and the right look for them to work.

The meggins you see in the glossy pages belonging to famous rock stars or models on the runway, in real every day life in the best of cases seem not much different from a pair of tight pajama bottoms.

Quindi, so che dai skinny jeans ai meggins il passo sembra veramente breve, ma per il bene di tutti, a meno che non siate dei modelli che corrono in ritardo da uno shooting all'altro ai due capi della città, non vi fate beccare in giro indossando un paio di questi in giro. 

A meno che non vogliate beccarvi una spina avvelenata volata dalla mia cerbottana.

So, I know from skinny jeans to meggins the jump seems really short, but for the good of all, unless you're a late model running from one to another shooting at the two ends of the city, do not be caught in around wearing a pair of these in the streets.

Unless you want to be a target for a poisoned thorn flew from my blowgun.

It's time

Questo post l'ho voluto dedicare a tre modelli di orologio che mi hanno piacevolmente colpito: di solito non mi piacciono i classici orologi maschili e io stessa non porto orologi al polso, ma ho trovato tre prodotti che mi hanno davvero stupito per la loro originalità e il buon gusto.

Il primo, dall'aspetto molto vintage e semplice, è l'orologio disegnato dall' indiano Prasanna Sankhe per HYPHEN: il cinturino in pelle e la cassa dal design classico lo rendono un orologio adatto a tutte le età, che sia al braccio di un giovane ventenne o a quello del vostro zio cinquantenne preferito.

La cosa che lo differenzia da tutti gli altri orologi sul commercio, però, è la stampa umoristica dei numeri sul quadrante: un 'ish' (in inglese, aggiungendo questo suffisso alla parola gli dà un significato di 'quasi' o 'più o meno': quindi 'nine-ish' starà a significare 'quasi le nove, o giù di lì' ) alla fine delle 3, 9, 6 e 12 infatti scherza sul fatto che nell'era degli orologi digitali 'chi riesce più a sapere l'ora esatta su un orologio analogico?'.

 I wanted to dedicate this post to three watch models that I was pleasantly surprised by: I do not usually like the classic men's watches and I myself do not wear watches on the wrist, but I found three products that I was really amazed by their originality and good taste.

The first, very vintage looking and simple, is the watch designed by Indian Prasanna Sankhe for HYPHEN: the leather strap and case with a classic design make it a watch suitable for all ages,that is on the arm of a the young man of twenty or of your favorite uncle of fifty.

The thing that sets him apart from all the other watches on the market, however, is the humorous press numbers on the dial: a 'ish' (in English, adding this suffix to the word gives it a meaning of 'almost' or 'more or less ': so nine-ish means ' almost nine o'clock or so ') at the end of 3, 9, 6 and 12 in fact joked that in the era of digital watches 'Who is left who can read analog clocks?'.

Questo orologio invece l'ho scoperto nel temporary shop di Full Spot mentre aspettavo la coincidenza alla stazione di Roma Termini per ritornare a casa e me ne sono innamorata subito: ho sempre avuto una passione smisurata per gli orologi da taschino e finalmente qualcuno ha pensato di rivisitarli in chiave molto più moderna.

Infatti, giocando con i colori del silicone ipoallergenico e resistente all'acqua, l'azienda ha creato un design semplice e moderno, adatto ad un pubblico giovanile e attento alla moda. 

Solo alla prima occhiata mi aveva stregato, ma essere un prodotto made & DESIGNED in Italy e provenire da un azienda che usa materiali eco-sostenibili non fa che accrescerne la qualità e l'appeal del prodotto (che poi costi solo 29€ fa di questo orologio un perfetto regalo di natale *wink wink*)

This watch instead I found in the temporary shop Full Spot while waiting for the connecting train to the Roma Termini station to return home, and I fell in love immediately: I have always had a huge passion for pocket watches and finally someone thought of revisit in a much more modern way.

In fact, playing with the colors of hypoallergenic and water-resistant silicone, the company has created a simple and modern design, suitable for young and fashion-conscious audiences.

It had enchanted me at first glance, but being a product made ​​& DESIGNED in Italy and from a company that uses eco-friendly materials, can only enhance the quality and appeal of the product (which costs only € 29, making this watch a perfect christmas gift * wink wink *)

L'ultimo orologio è sicuramente il mio preferito dei tre (anche se è una dura lotta), o almeno quello che porterei più spesso al polso.

Disegnato dal pioniere di computer grafica Daniel Will-Harris, l'orologio  in vendita al MoMA è stato creato per un progetto per la progettazione di orologi in cui sono stati invitati i progettisti e gli architetti di tutto il mondo: l'orologio meccanico che legge l'orario come uno digitale ha la filosofia, infatti, di pensare solo al presente. Così, oscurando tutti i numeri che non servono alla lettura del tempo esatto e il design sottile, semplice e elegante lo rendono adatto ad ogni occasione: soprattutto se si ha bisogno solo di una sbirciatina veloce per sapere l'ora esatta.

 Ovviamente tra i colori disponibili preferisco il nero, il rosso e l'azzurro monocromatici.

The last watch is definitely my favorite of the three (although it is a tough fight), or at least what would be most often on my wrist.

Designed by computer graphics pioneer Daniel Will-Harris, the clock for sale at the MoMA was created for a project for the designing watches in which they are invited designers and architects around the world: the mechanical clock that reads time as a digital has the philosophy, in fact, to think only of the present. So, obscuring all numbers that do not need to read the time and the slim design, simple and elegant make it suitable for any occasion, especially if you only need a quick peek to know the exact time.

  Obviously of the colors available I prefer the black, red and blue monochrome.
